We will hammer City - Evans 04/01/2010
![]() Jonny Evans wants to put the Leeds defeat behind him and beat Manchester City. The centre-back returned on Sunday after being out for 2 months, his 22nd Birthday was also on Sunday, however his celebrations were crushed as Leeds won 1-0 at OT - but Evans thinks United can win on Wednesday in the Carling Cup. The Northern-Irishman was out with a niggling calf-injury since November and admitted it was very frustrating sitting on the bench with a host of other injured defenders. "It’s frustrating to have an injury at any time during the season, but it was especially disappointing in the last two months to have missed so many games," he said. "With a lot of the other defenders injured, you know that if you were fit you could get a good run in the side. All the other lads that have been on the treatment table recently have been thinking the same thing. So hopefully it won’t be too long before we’re all back." Evans wants to forget about the Leeds defeat and win against oil-rich Man City on Wednesday. The Carling Cup was Evans' first title as a Devil and wants to regain the title. "We're right in the middle of a really busy time of the season, but as a player it's one you really enjoy because there are lots of big games," he added. "As well as the league, we've got two big Carling Cup matches against Manchester City. So it's an exciting time, and now I just want to play as big a part as I possibly can."
